If you are thinking of having a vacation while trying to get pregnant, then this article will be helpful for you! Keeping up healthy habits is important especially when you are trying to conceive. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind:

Women who are planning to go on a vacation abroad should discuss their travel plans with their healthcare provider. Find out whether the place you have in mind requires certain medication or vaccinations. There are exotic vacation spots that you would need shots for. Not all immunizations are safe even during the first few days and weeks of pregnancy. It is best to check with your doctor on whether these are permissible. Certain locations which have a high incidence of malaria, dengue or Zika are best avoided. If there are mosquitoes, it is essential to use safe repellent creams, long-sleeved clothes and netting.

When travelling to a country with Zika, there should be a 2-month waiting time for women, and 6 months for men, thus putting fertility on hold for 6 months.

It is best to choose places that are easily accessible. Make sure you don’t need long layovers or haul flights. If you are used to backpacking or hectic package tours before, you should opt for a more comfortable vacation this time around. Try not to tire yourself with long walks. This is not the best time to go hiking or riding in jeeps for a jungle safari.

You should also consider the amenities available in the locations you will be choosing. It will be easier to relax and enjoy your vacation while trying to conceive when you know that there are good shops as well as medical facilities nearby. You should do your research online before you actually book tickets.

Before you go on a trip, make sure that you plan wisely and do it early. Make a list of all the things you need to take with you. When planning your transfers and activities, make sure that you allow plenty of time for travel – regular toilet stops, rest breaks, and extra time for any delays.

If you are used to having a hectic schedule and adventure activities, you might want to lower the tempo this time around. Since you are trying to conceive, you might want to have a more relaxed routine. You can choose to go shopping, or spending time at the beach. You can also visit museums and other scenic spots.
